A Short Film set in a fictional rural community called Okoda, Shalewa, an autistic and socially misfit teenager, finds warmth in her poor mother’s embrace

So we paid a visit to the EbonyLife Cinema in VI the past week to screen a short film, a product of film students of EbonyLife Creative Academy, and it looks promising. It wasn’t the finished product yet as they were still very deep in post-production workflow but it was almost there. And I specifically had to give kudos to the lead that played Shalewa, Ebunoluwa, for giving life to the role. She is definitely a rising-star to watch out for.

Angel in the Stone, was written, acted, directed, shot, edited, mixed and produced exclusively by students of the said Academy and like every quarterly-intake into the Academy, her product has only gotten better and funkier. As one of the four films produced by the students of the current intake, others being Sunflower, Illusion, and Flawed Cupid; AITS, as the producers of Angel in the Stone fondly call it, is a story that embraces the physically challenged in the society while passing the ultimate message that there is ability in disability. The tagline puts it like this: Beyond the Spectrum.

Below are some behind the scene… they shared with us.
