With an amazing performance and engaging story that makes it beautiful to watch, its ending feels empty. While the chaos and heartbreak drive home the film’s message, a more nuanced approach to justice and resolution would have made for a stronger, more satisfying conclusion.

THE GOOD
The performances in Baby Farm are nothing short of remarkable, particularly from the teenage actresses who embody their roles with raw emotion and intensity. Their portrayals bring an unsettling realism to the film, making the pain, fear, and helplessness of their characters all the more tangible.
Beyond its powerful performances, Baby farm exposes several pressing societal issues. It highlights the deep-seated distrust in law enforcement, explores how foreign entities exploit the vulnerabilities of developing nations such as negligence of pregnant teenagers.
It also critiques society’s obsession with celebrity gossip, which distracts from real crises that demand attention.
If Joy wasn’t obsessed with celebrity gossip she would have understood the danger she and Emem’s sister were in. And in extension , be the driving force to unravel the criminal activities of the Evans foundation.
Furthermore the narrative depicts the desperation and stigmatization surrounding child bearing, as well as the dangers of teenage pregnancy.
THE NOT SO GOOD
Regardless of its compelling storyline, the ending falters in its delivery . While tragedy is expected in a story of this nature, the conclusion felt excessively catastrophic.
The fate of Eniye and Ebun, in particular, felt like a needless tragedy as it cut short the audience’s emotional investment. These girls, who had suffered so much, deserved a resolution that provided a glimmer of hope such that Adanna’s reunion with her babies would seem significant.
Additionally ,There were no severe consequences whatsoever for those who exploited and dehumanized them.
I applaud the plot twist with Eniye, nevertheless , it wasn’t fully explored to its potential. That moment had the power to shift the entire narrative, yet it wasn’t maximized to build on the tension that had been carefully developed throughout the story.
Instead of merely being a shocking revelation, it should have been the crux of the film—the turning point that forced every other element to fall into place.
If handled differently, it could have heightened the emotional stakes, driven the plot forward in a more compelling way, and ultimately delivered a satisfying resolution.Unfortunately the end held no tangible emotional impact or relief.
Ultimately
Baby farm is an interesting watch that explores deep seated issues within the society such as the dangers associated with neglecting teenage pregnancy , desperation for childbearing and the exploitation of these vulnerabilities by ill minded people.
