Love, Lust, and a Murder

Love, Lust, and a Murder tells the story of a couple, Mauve (Adaora Udeh) and Ovie( Bryan Okoye) whose seemingly happy marriage is put asunder when new neighbors, Amina(Mary Lazarus) and Deji(Uzor Arukwu) make their acquaintance.

The best thing about this movie was the superb acting by Mary Lazarus and Uzor Arukwu. Their scenes were humorous and well-acted one could feel their emotions, especially the scene when she tells him she knew about his affair.

Bryan Okoye could do better, and Adaora Udeh should do better. Their cheesy love scene looked forced. The makeup and costumes were adequate and professionally done. But the plot itself was pretty unrealistic. One, if a spouse, in this case wife, is cheating wouldn't the logical thing be to confront them, request a DNA test to determine the paternity of the child, and then get a divorce? I'm sure that's what the, How To Deal With A Cheating Spouse manual, would recommend. How does tricking her into taking abortion pills solve the problem? If the baby is aborted and the affair continues she is bound to get pregnant again, right?

Also if someone, most especially a pregnant woman, is having abdominal pain is the logical thing not to call for help and go to a hospital instead of going to moan in the bedroom. Speaking of, with that level of pain the sheets would have been rumpled from her rolling and possibly blood-stained too, no way she would have been lying peacefully on smooth sheets as if asleep. And what is the moral of the story anyway? If your partner is unfaithful find silly underhand ways to deal with them instead of talking?

Anyway for those who like films with a cast less than 10, this is for them.
